I am an experienced independent Building Surveyor who covers South East England. I am a specialist in all aspects of damp, structural waterproofing, conversions, condensation, woodworm and fungal decay.

I have worked in all levels of the damp proofing and timber preservation industry. Firstly working as a damp proofing technician, and plasterers “mate” learning how dampness is caused and more importantly how it can be controlled and cured.
Following this my career progressed to an apprentice Carpenter, where I carried out timber replacements and repairs, which included internal joinery, timber decay replacements and structural beam replacements. Finally completing the five year apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery. In addition this gave me the foundation knowledge and experience in building construction, and their inherent defects. Furthermore I gained experiencing working in period properties, and conservation areas through to new constructions.
After which in 1994, I formed a successful local preservation company with a business partner. Before finally moving on to become a fully Independent Surveyor in 2008.
During this time I returned to University and further studied CEM Diploma in surveying practice and CEM Postgraduate Diploma in Surveying taking a further 5 years to complete.

- 38 years within the preservation industry. Where I began working as an damp proofing operative up to surveyor level
- Building pathology expert.
- 15 years of practical on site experience, working with a multitude of contracting companies.
- Furthermore I have spent 21 years as a Director in Management
- Surveying and report writing expert.
- Qualified apprentice served (5 year) Carpenter and Joiner (Ordinary & Advanced Level) with practical experience in structural repairs and faults.
- Qualified in Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatments (CSRT),
- Property Care Association (PCA) “Independent Surveyor” membership
- Qualified Building Surveyor : Dip BS
- Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW) this allows me to carry out inspections, report writing and design of basement waterproofing systems or structures below ground level, whether this be new build or refurbishment.
I have worked within the construction and building industry at all levels, as a trades person through to management and surveying for commercial and domestic clients. Priding myself on my wealth of experience in dealing with properties of all ages and construction type.
During this time I have been employed by major contractors in the property preservation industry as a consultant advising on specifications, for contract management and dispute resolutions.
I now offer my experience to my clientele to provide realistic cost effective solutions and specifications to building defects.
